In vlog 009 the is a metal and wood project, updates on workshop improvements and a decision on Paris.
I have had a welding lesson, so now is the time to put the theory into practice. I am have drawn up a design for a metal and wood side table. At first I thought I should use bright steel, but my good friend Tony at www.penn-farm.co.uk persuaded me as this is my first adventure in metal, that I should use mild steel. Mild steel is cheaper, easier to weld and easier to get hold of. As for the wooden shelves I am looking to source some local hardwood with good grain figure.
In preparation for the metal work I did need to buy some new tools, yay! Nothing too extravagant, flap disks and metal cutting disks for my angle grinder. But if you know anywhere to get multipurpose blades for my chop saw, 254mm, then I would love to hear about it.
This last week has been half term, so no making has occurred in the workshop. Lots of trampolining and other activities run the beans off my three.
I did get a chance last week to tidy up the workshop, sort out the offcuts heap, finish the side wall and move the overhead filming mirror.
It has been confirmed, we are going to Paris, all signed and sealed, so now the search for schools and flats starts.
I am aiming at getting a project video out every other week, with a vlog of progress in between i.e. Project video, Vlog, Project video, Vlog and so on….. The next video I am working on is the Metal and wood side table build, hopefully you will like it!
Last of all some thanks. Thank you for subscribing to my YouTube channel, I am up to 130 subs, every one counts! Also, thank you to Joshua Luther for sending out a sticker, I really appreciate it.
