I have been enlarging a lovely old stable style door for some friends of mine. The door looks to be around 1950’s and softwood.
The door has been shortened some time in it’s past, with the hinges and handles in different places. Now Chris and Emma wanted it to fit a standard size door frame in a cottage they are refurbishing.
I thought about buying a planner / thicknesser for this job so that I could size the timber I would need exactly to the door myself. But time and money pushed me towards buying the additional pieces to the finished sizes or Planed All Round (PAR), Sometimes this is the easier route.
