How to make a boot rack

In this my first video, I show you how I make a space saving boot rack. I decided to make the boot rack like this to get our porch tidied up. I just didn’t like the floor standing ones. Having tried a few variations I settled on birch plywood for a contemporary look.

I made this video before I had a table saw, so I ripped the plywood to width using a Black and Decker circular saw using a shop made guide.

The steps I go through to make the boot rack are…
Rip the plywood to length
Sand off rough edges
Cut to rough length by hand using a bench hook
Laminate the two piece of plywood together using Gorilla Woodglue
Mark the holes using my shop made template guide
Drill out the holes with an Axminster Pillar drill
Mark and cut the dowels to length using the bench hook
Glue and knock in the dowel pegs
Sand down and finish with four coats of Danish Oil
